Support the growth and commercial success of Global Education Solutions through lead generation, client engagement and business development coordination.

At Ecctis, our vision is to be the acknowledged global leader in the international qualifications and recognition arena. Our mission is to be the preferred source of expert advice on the recognition and comparability of qualifications and skills internationally, building on our advanced research and our established knowledge and experience of education systems across the world. Ecctis delivers a wide range of services, products, and projects in the field of international education. We help make sense of international qualifications and support a range of clients including individuals, universities, and colleges, awarding bodies and government ministries.

The work is varied, and the atmosphere is enthusiastic, collegial and supportive. There are opportunities to develop specialisms and to lead research and training for countries and regions.

Purpose of role:

The Business Development Coordinator supports the growth and commercial success of Global Education Solutions (GES) by driving lead generation, coordinating early‑stage client engagement, and managing business development processes and systems. As a key point of contact for prospective clients, the role ensures smooth progression through the sales pipeline and maintains effective communication and relationship management.

The role involves identifying new market opportunities, supporting marketing and outreach activities, and representing GES at external events to generate leads. It also contributes to the development of proposals and sales materials, while maintaining accurate data, pipeline tracking and performance reporting to support decision‑making.

The postholder also supports operational leads within GES by writing and contributing to business proposals, supporting the development of marketing materials, and communicating potential opportunities across the business.

Key responsibilities:
Lead generation and market research
  • Manage GES inbound enquiries received through the Ecctis website and any other sources.
  • Identify and research prospective clients, markets and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent GES at key external events, such as conferences and networking opportunities, to generate new leads.
  • Support the marketing team in generating and creating content, such as client testimonials, case studies and email campaigns.
Client communication and sales support
  • Act as the first point of contact for the initial stages of sales processes.
  • Conduct initial qualification calls with prospective clients and scope the nature of the business opportunity.
  • Liaise with business area leads to support a smooth sales transition for prospective clients.
  • Schedule meetings, calls and demos with prospective clients.
  • Support, and lead where necessary, on the preparation of proposals, presentations and pitch materials.
  • Maintain regular communication with leads and existing clients.
Data and systems management
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records in all internal systems.
  • Track and update sales pipeline activities.
  • Liaise with key delivery colleagues to ensure agreed timelines and requirements are met.
  • Manage internal CRM systems for work and project management, including HubSpot and Monday.com, ensuring that key data can be extracted at regular intervals.
  • Generate performance reports on sales, lead generation and conversion rates.
  • Support the tracking of revenue generation and profit margins across all business areas and the division as a whole.
Operational support
  • Support business area leads where required, including writing and co‑writing proposals and marketing content.
  • Ensure effective communication across the GES division regarding new business opportunities and the tracking of existing conversions.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects where required.
Other duties
  • Abide by the Company’s policies and procedures, and actively promote them within the team.
  • Abide by the Company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, while considering your own health and safety and that of colleagues.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned with the general remit, level and responsibilities of the role.
Skills and experience required
  • Experience of working within education, qualifications, training or a related sector.
  • Experience of contributing to sales, marketing or business development activity, including proposal writing and supporting commercial discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of liaising with external clients in an international or cross‑cultural context.
  • Experience of using CRM and project management systems, such as HubSpot and Monday.com, as well as Microsoft systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to demonstrate high levels of accuracy within their work.
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with others within the department, building strong cross‑team relationships.
  • Experience of working within a commercial setting and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Familiarity with qualification benchmarking and/or evaluation processes.
  • Experience of contributing to the analysis of financial reporting.
  • Strong research and market analysis skills, with the ability to support the identification of areas of focus for a commercial business.
  • Experience of tendering for external bids, in government and/or private business settings.
Person specification
  • A supportive and collaborative team member, with a can‑do attitude.
  • Embraces change and progress.
  • Able to see a project through from start to finish, while appreciating the bigger picture.
  • Culturally aware and open to learning.
  • Solutions‑oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, enjoying a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Self‑motivated, taking responsibility for their own workload.
  • Strives for continuous improvement, using feedback as a positive tool for change.
  • Aligned with Ecctis’ values.
Key employee benefits
  • 25 days annual leave plus swappable bank holidays, as well as an additional 3.5 days gifted for the winter office closure.
  • Life assurance of 4 x basic salary for members of the pension scheme.
