Job summary

Scania in Milton Keynes offers a 12‑month fixed term contract for a Business Controller. The role covers full financial control for Bus, Coach and Power Solutions, including month‑end close, balance sheet integrity, margin analysis, and close collaboration with senior leadership.

Key requirements include CIMA/ACCA qualification (finalist welcome), strong Excel and Power BI experience, and experience in automotive sectorfinance. Hybrid working and generous benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Own the full Business Control function for Bus, Coach and Power Solutions.
• Prepare month-end management accounts with timely, accurate reporting.
• Review financial control provisions for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure integrity.
• Prepare margin analyses for profitability reviews.
• Analyse budgets vs projections and flag variances.
• Oversee daily reports on orders, stock and order book for operations.
• Collaborate with Head of PS and others to provide financial insights.
• Support tender pricing analysis with Technical Sales and Fleet Manager.
• Coordinate with Admin and Sales teams on day-to-day finance tasks.
• Serve as a contact for external audits and required documentation.

Job Title: Business Controller

Salary: Starting from £40,000 plus an excellent benefits package

In this role you will:

• Responsible for the full Business Control function for Bus, Coach, and Power Solutions, providing financial oversight and strategic insight.
• Full responsibility of the preparation of month-end management accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and assess financial control provisions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Perform complete balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity and transparency.
• Prepare accurate margin analyses to support profitability reviews and performance evaluation.
• Analyse and compare budgets against projections, identifying any variances.
• Overview of daily reports on order intake, stock levels, and the order book to inform operational decisions to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Bus, Coach, and Power Solutions, delivering key financial insights to drive informed business decisions.
• Primary contact together with Technical Sales Manager on all pricing analysis for tender submissions working closely with the Fleet Manager.
• Collaborate closely with the Administration Coordinator and the Sales Administration Team on day to day operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, ensuring all required documentation and information is readily available.

About you:

• CIMA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist - Ideally recently qualified or at the final stage of qualification
• Previous experience in a finance, accounts, business support, or analytical role.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Good understanding of financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience within the automotive, transport, fleet, or commercial vehicle sector.
• Knowledge of Autoline
• Experience using Power BI to create reports, dashboards, and visualisations
• Experience supporting sales finance or commercial finance functions.
