Job summary

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a post holder to lead the improvement strategies for the Trust's Business Continuity Management, a key function under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. The role focuses on embedding BCM across all levels to ensure resilience and robust assurances.

You will provide the required assurances to the Head of EPRR that BCM is fit for purpose, tested, assessed, inspected and scrutinised, helping the Trust deliver safe, high‑quality care.

Job description

The post holder has responsibility for delivering the improvement strategies in the Trust's Business Continuity Management. This is a key function of the Trust as a Category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) and the post holder supports the Trusts legal obligations under the act.

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The post holder will support the development of the culture and environment in which Business Continuity Management is embedded at all levels to ensure resilience.

The post holder will provide the required assurances to the Head of EPRR (Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response) that the Trust's Business Continuity Management is fit for purpose, legal and has been tested, assessed, inspected and scrutinised.
