Job summary

A major engineering company in Rugby is seeking an experienced Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Lead for a 6-month contract. This role involves developing comprehensive Business Continuity Plans and Emergency Contingency Plans tailored to project-based engineering operations. Candidates should possess proven BCP/ECP documentation experience in complex environments, strong knowledge of crisis management, and the ability to engage with multiple teams. Familiarity with ISO 22301 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BCP and/or ECP documentation within complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of business continuity, crisis management, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work independently while gathering technical input across departments.
• Confident in engaging with engineering, safety, facilities, and leadership teams.
• Familiarity with ISO 22301 or similar standards is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write comprehensive Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Emergency Contingency Plans (ECP).
• Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), identifying recovery priorities and timelines.
• Design strategies to safeguard critical operations and workflows.
• Write detailed emergency response plans for various scenarios.
• Coordinate drills, refine plans based on findings.

Job Title: Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Lead

Contract Duration: 6 Months - Umbrella

An excellent opportunity for a hands‑on, experienced Business Continuity & Emergency Planning Lead to join our team a major engineering company. In this role, you'll develop and write comprehensive, fit‑for‑purpose Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Emergency Contingency Plans (ECP) tailored to our project‑based engineering business, which spans multiple sectors, including Defence, and operates manufacturing and remote sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• BCP & ECP Development
• Stakeholder Engagement

• Design strategies to safeguard critical operations and workflows.
• Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), identifying recovery priorities and timelines.
• Develop and test recovery strategies and documentation with key teams.
• Ensure compliance with frameworks like ISO 22301.
• Emergency Contingency Planning (ECP):

• Write detailed emergency response plans for various scenarios (e.g., fire, utility failure, hazardous events).
• Coordinate drills, document roles and responsibilities, and refine plans based on findings.
• Integrate health and safety, engineering protocols, and communication procedures.

• Proven experience in BCP and/or ECP documentation, ideally within complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of business continuity, crisis management, and risk mitigation.
