Business Change Programme Manager

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (24 months)

Annual Salary: £71,429

Working Pattern: Full Time

Are you ready to lead transformative change in the public safety sector? Our client Thames Valley Police are seeking an enthusiastic Business Change Programme Manager to spearhead significant collaborative programmes that will make a real impact on communities. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Deliver: Oversee the successful delivery of business change and transformation programmes at force, bi-lateral, regional, and national levels.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Foster proactive engagement with internal departments, partner organisations, and the public through effective change management and communication strategies.
  • Manage Governance: Set up and manage programme governance structures, ensuring compliance with standards as a public body.
  • Risk and Financial Management: Lead all aspects of risk and financial management to keep the programme on track and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and manage cross‑functional teams, including Project Managers and support staff, ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • A good standard of education with a relevant post‑graduate or vocational qualification.
  • Recent experience in business change programme management with a track record of successfully delivering significant change.
  • An MSP qualification or PRINCE2 practitioner certification.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate across multiple organisations with varying strategic priorities.
  • Experience in delivering change within a unionised environment, alongside a solid understanding of police service culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent planning and dependency management skills, capable of prioritising across complex work‑streams.
  • Proven experience in budget management with the ability to inform financial decisions effectively.
  • Capability to travel across locations for meetings as required.

You must have resided within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application! This is a Police Vetting requirement.

Note: Candidates will be required to confirm their willingness to undertake a Basic Driving Assessment to use a police‑authorised vehicle.
