About you

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Architect to join our newly established Strategic Alignment function. The ideal candidate will be proficient in comprehending and shaping business processes and capabilities and should be confident working across all areas of the Cigna International Health Business. This role will be working with internal and external stakeholders to create strategically aligned solutions that maximize value and ensure key business outcomes are achieved.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Strong understanding of the health care industry and health insurer operations
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business architecture or enterprise business analysis and, or enterprise architecture
  • Extensive knowledge of business architecture methodologies and framework
  • Strong proficiency in business process documentation
  • Exceptional ability to translate business needs into tactical requirements
  • A good understanding of system design, data & analytics, software architecture and software engineering practices
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) concepts, including their application in business process transformation, automation, and decision support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across stakeholder groups to gather, analyze, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Comfortable working in some degree of ambiguity and ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Experience collaborating with others to share insights and refine concepts
  • Desire to continuously improve self and help the Strategic Alignment function mature
  • A global perspective with the ability to navigate complexity across regions, business lines, and regulatory landscapes.

  • Supporting the definition and planning of our strategic technology roadmap. Specifically, you will:
  • Participate in planning and strategy sessions
  • Proactively offer insights based on business architecture principles to support the development of the company's strategic roadmap
  • Stay current with digital technologies and trends to help the organization stay competitive
  • Support organizational studies and evaluations, as requested, to inform or refine the roadmap or potential solutions
  • Collaborate with technology architects to support the Portfolio Management and backlog refinement process
  • Acting as a critical team member to collaborate on the development of recommended strategic solutions
  • Lead coordination and collaboration across multiple Discovery stakeholders to gather, document, and understand business needs and translate them into requirements
  • Lead documentation of the current state of the organization through a business and IT blueprint based on inputs gathered from key Discovery stakeholders
  • Lead identification and capture of challenges and opportunities in current state based on inputs gathered from key Discovery stakeholders
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI/GenAI to drive business value, improve customer experience, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assess business capabilities, conduct gap analysis, and prioritize initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Be a key contributor in the identification, proposal, and design of solution options to close gaps in business capabilities and address specific business needs.
  • Lead documentation of business and IT architecture for select solution options and lead high level change impact analysis
  • Act as subject matter resource on current business architecture; Proactively develop and maintain deep understanding of the organization’s current business processes and strategic objectives for the future
  • Proactively seek to identify unintended consequences of change on the current overall architecture
  • Build alignment and shared understanding – and help dispel mis‑information about the current state
  • Work with stakeholders to validate that solutions are designed in such a way that they deliver maximum value to the customer, and this can be demonstrated empirically
  • Proactively participate in building a culture of teaming and continuous learning
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with others to share insights and refine concepts
  • Build trust with others through consistent ability to deliver high quality work while also being accessible and supportive
