Yolk Recruitment in Newport (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) is seeking a Business Applications Manager to own the applications function and lead teams responsible for support, development and testing.

You will drive governance improvements, manage change and act as the senior escalation point for critical systems, while shaping modernisation initiatives and technology strategy with senior IT leadership.

Formación

• Experience leading application, business systems or software development teams.
• Strong people management and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience introducing governance and best practice into technology functions.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of ITIL or service management environments.
• Exposure to Microsoft technologies including C#, VB.NET and SQL would be beneficial.

We're supporting a growing South Wales business looking for a Business Applications Manager to take ownership of a business-critical applications function.

This is a leadership role with genuine responsibility from day one. You'll lead teams responsible for application support, development and testing, helping mature processes, improve governance and ensure the organisation's systems continue to support ambitious growth plans.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior IT leadership, taking ownership of day-to-day operations whilst supporting the rollout of new technologies, modernisation initiatives and future business systems improvements.

What You'll Do:

• Lead teams responsible for application support, business systems development and testing
• Drive improvements in governance, processes and service delivery
• Act as the senior escalation point for business-critical applications
• Manage and prioritise application change requests and enhancements

What You'll Bring:

• Experience leading application, business systems or software development teams
• Strong people management and stakeholder management skills
• Experience introducing governance, structure and best practice into technology functions
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Good SQL knowledge and the ability to support technical teams when required
• Experience delivering application and business systems projects
• Experience working with ERP or enterprise application environments
• Knowledge of ITIL or service management environments
• Exposure to Microsoft technologies including C#, VB.NET and SQL would be beneficial
