Job summary

About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Applications Developer to join our Business Applications team, helping to develop, support and improve the systems that keep our business running. With a focus on Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central and related applications, you’ll work with the Business Applications Technical Lead and colleagues across the Keystone Group to turn business needs into effective technical solutions.

This varied role offers the opportunity to develop your skills across application support, system improvements, integrations, testing and project delivery. Ideal for someone with around 1–3 years’ experience, you’ll learn new technologies, take ownership of tasks and contribute to projects that make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and enhance Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central and related business systems.
• Investigate and resolve application issues, troubleshoot problems and respond to support requests.
• Work with colleagues and end users to understand requirements and develop practical technical solutions.
• Support application design, development, testing, training and implementation across the Group.
• Work with IT colleagues and third‑party providers to support system integrations.
• Carry out functional and technical testing, assist with releases and deployments, and help maintain system performance.
• Support system maintenance, updates and upgrades, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Create user guides and technical documentation and help colleagues understand and use systems effectively.
• Keep up to date with new technologies and development approaches, including AI-assisted development.
• Travel to Group sites and undertake relevant tasks outside standard working hours when required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• A degree in Computing, Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Around 1–3 years’ experience in software development, business applications or a similar technical role.
• An understanding of programming fundamentals, debugging and software testing.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues.
• An interest in ERP systems and improving business processes through technology.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central or other ERP systems, ideally in manufacturing.
• Development experience with Dynamics NAV/Business Central, including AL and/or C/AL.
• Understanding of APIs, web services and JSON.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and source control, ideally Git.
• Knowledge of SQL and databases.
• Experience with Power Platform or data analytics tools.
