This role centres on gathering and refining data and analytics requirements, interpreting complex information, and supporting the development of clear, meaningful reporting outputs.

You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-defined requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. You’ll analyse data sets to identify patterns, support improvements in data quality and consistency, and ensure data is used effectively to support decision‑making.

This is a hands‑on, detail‑focused role ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working with data, and bringing clarity to complex information.

As a Business Analyst, you will:
  • Work with stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to capture, refine and prioritise reporting and analytics requirements
  • Act as a bridge between operational teams and BI developers, ensuring data solutions are aligned to business needs
  • Interpret and analyse asset and operational data to support performance tracking and continuous improvement
  • Support the development of meaningful dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools
  • Contribute to data quality and standardisation activities across diverse datasets and systems
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning and review sessions within an Agile delivery environment
  • Promote consistent use of trusted data sources and standard business definitions
  • Build strong relationships across teams, helping ensure insights and reporting are well understood and used effectively
  • Experience as a Business Analyst within an IT, digital or data‑driven environment
  • Strong experience gathering and shaping reporting, analytics or BI requirements
  • Practical experience using SQL to explore or query data
  • Good working knowledge of Power BI or similar visualisation/reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work confidently with complex datasets
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams
  • Experience working in Agile or structured delivery environments
  • An interest in supporting data quality, consistency and standardisation across systems
