Anderson Knight Limited is seeking a commercially minded Retail Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that drive sales and profitability. You’ll work across Retail Operations, Finance, Marketing and Commercial teams, turning complex data into clear recommendations and engaging dashboards.

Based in the Newbridge area but fully remote, you’ll challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and influence strategic decisions with evidence-based analysis that supports store performance

Anderson Knight is looking for a commercially minded Retail Analyst who loves uncovering insights, solving problems and helping businesses perform at their best.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the growth and success of a dynamic retail operation, transforming complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive sales, profitability and operational performance.

Working alongside teams across Retail Operations, Finance, Marketing, Commercial, Property, Supply Chain and Data & Insights, you’ll help answer critical business questions, identify opportunities for improvement and influence real commercial decisions.

This isn’t just a reporting role.

We’re looking for someone who wants to understand the story behind the numbers, challenge assumptions and help shape strategy through meaningful analysis. Our client is based in Newbridge however the role is fully remote.

Retail Performance Analysis

• Analyse store performance across sales, margin, footfall, transactions, basket spend, profitability and key retail KPIs.
• Track trends and identify opportunities to improve trading performance.
• Produce insightful dashboards and reports for operational and senior leadership teams.
• Benchmark stores, regions and formats to understand what drives success.
• Investigate underperforming locations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the evaluation of new store openings, relocations, refurbishments and closures.

Commercial & Category Insight

• Analyse sales, margin, pricing, promotional activity and supplier performance.
• Evaluate the commercial impact of pricing and promotional strategies.
• Support category reviews and range development projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, margin and overall profitability.
• Provide valuable insight to support commercial planning and supplier discussions.

Promotional & Marketing Effectiveness

• Measure the success of promotions and marketing campaigns.
• Analyse customer behaviour, sales uplift and profitability impact.
• Assess campaign ROI and identify opportunities to optimise future activity.
• Produce post-campaign reviews and recommendations for key stakeholders.

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Partner closely with Finance teams to understand business performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes.
• Monitor performance versus budget, forecast and previous year.
• Develop scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support decision making.
• Understand how operational performance impacts commercial outcomes.

Data, Reporting & Automation

• Create and maintain engaging dashboards and management reports.
• Improve the quality, accessibility and consistency of retail data.
• Help automate reporting processes and reduce manual workloads.
• Investigate data issues and ensure information remains accurate and reliable.
• Build tools that enable stakeholders to easily access and understand performance metrics.

Advanced Analytics

• Support the development of predictive and data-driven retail models.
• Analyse factors influencing store performance and growth potential.
• Work with demographic, geographic and market data to uncover opportunities.
• Test and refine analytical models to continuously improve business insight.

Essential Experience

• Experience within Retail, Commercial Analysis, Finance, Business Analysis or Data Analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
