Job description

Eversheds Sutherland are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our existing Legal Service Design team. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders across many areas of our business to define and manage requirements for a number of concurrent initiatives. You will be involved in managing these through the full lifecycle of delivery. The role will be aligned to a variety of strategic projects including Generative AI.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across legal, operations, and technology teams to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops to understand user needs, pain points, and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Support the delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives, including those involving Generative AI, legal tech transformation, and service design optimisation.
  • Align business analysis activities with broader strategic goals, ensuring traceability from requirements through to delivery.
  • Evaluate and recommend legal tech solutions, including AI-powered tools for contract automation, clause comparison, and chatbot-driven self‑service platforms.
  • Work with legal operations and IT to pilot, implement, and scale Generative AI use cases, ensuring alignment with governance and risk frameworks.
  • Analyse and redesign legal service delivery processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance user experience.
  • Develop service blueprints, process flows, and user journeys to support the implementation of new tools and ways of working.
  • Manage initiatives through the full delivery lifecycle—from discovery and design through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Support testing, training, and change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new solutions.
  • Collaborate with data teams to define metrics and reporting requirements that demonstrate the value and impact of legal service improvements.
  • Use data to inform decision‑making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation including business cases, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Contribute to governance forums and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years working experience as a BA, preferably within Professional Services.
  • A self‑motivated professional with personality and enthusiasm for delivering value to the firm.
  • Able to produce high‑quality documentation and presentation material, with diagrams where required.
  • An ability to identify technical challenges and lead efforts to overcome them.
  • Flexible and happy to manage own time to work on a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Direct engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in working within the legal sector or similar.
  • Worked with AI projects and are familiar with the technology.
  • Experience of project delivery cycles and methodologies such as Agile.
  • Awareness of Design thinking and Lean Six Sigma methodologies desirable but not essential.
