You will be working within the IT Services division in the Business Technical Services team supporting the internal project team, which comprises subject matter experts from within IT and the business areas.

The project

The university has embarked on a new initiative to deliver the university’s new Transnational Education service involving partnerships and initiatives to deliver education outside of the UK, including collaborations with universities in other countries and the establishment of branch campuses. The solution will endeavour to utilise existing processes and technology where possible, and where this isn’t possible your role will be to help develop solutions to meet the aims of this initiative.

The role

  • Document the To-Be processes for the new capability and with the As-Is ways of similar working, perform a gap analysis.
  • With the Solution Architect, document the To-Be design.

  • Review and analyse the logical and physical data used by existing IT services and supporting business processes, to assist with the design.
  • Assist setting up test scripts for interfaces, including: middleware unit, consuming application, system, UAT, and unit test scripts.
  • Work with the external suppliers to accurately convey collected interface and data mapping information to support later stage development planning.
  • Apply a consistent and structured approach in the use of business analysis tools and techniques to deliver agreed outputs across the whole project lifecycle.
  • Lead the business in the analysis of the data structure and its use in systems as well as supporting business processes, to identify business problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • In the data and systems being worked on, continually assess the integrity of data from their sources and actively contribute to the improvements in data quality.
About You

  • Demonstrable good planning and organisation skills.

Experience of the following would be desirable but not essential. This role will also provide an opportunity for growth within these areas for an individual with the right attitude and approach:
