Job summary

A leading financial technology firm in Essex is seeking a Business Analyst to support the design and delivery of digital payment solutions. The role involves gathering requirements, defining processes, and collaborating with various teams. Required skills include experience in the fintech sector, strong analytical abilities, and knowledge of Agile methodologies. This position is onsite 5 days a week.

Role: Business Analyst

Location: Essex, 5 days a week onsite

X4 Technology are offering the opportunity for a Business Analyst to join a global leader in financial technology and digital payments. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, supporting the design, delivery and optimisation of solutions that enable financial institutions, merchants, and consumers to move money safely and efficiently.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in gathering requirements, defining business processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions that meet client and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Analyst include:
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand and document business needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Translate requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications for technology and product teams.
  • Analyse data and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and cost reduction.
  • Support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from requirements definition through user acceptance testing (UAT) and implementation.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and product managers to ensure solutions align with business requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and support internal process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to stakeholder workshops, sprint planning, and backlog refinement sessions.
Key Requirements of the Business Analyst include:
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the financial services, payments, or fintech sector.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing, digital banking, or transaction lifecycle management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence or similar.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, global environment.
