Job Purpose

As part of the Trade Credit business team, working with IT teams and business stakeholders to support the successful delivery of business change. Business analysis is a core part of the BAU function and the individuals in the role will be required to support the business as it endeavors to deliver ongoing change. This role is a crucial part of all stages of understanding and delivering change requirements for the Trade Credit division, from initial defect reporting and requirements gathering, design, test and business readiness together with API integration, data mapping and technical analysis.

The role sits in a small team of front desk support and business analysts (x3) directly engaged by the Trade Credit business team but working closely with IT as part of a cross functional Product Model Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Trade Credit business users to understand business strategy, business drivers, capabilities and processes.
  • Represent the Trade Credit business to ensure the project solution and deliverables meet their requirements
  • Support Product Owner and other Product Model team members through regular communication with the business
  • Facilitate business workshops to understand requirements
  • Extract and document business requirements in a way the business recognises and can support
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, product roadmap discussions and ensure technical requirements (APIs, integrations, data flows) are fully represented
  • Act as the API /data Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Trade Credit business
  • Create appropriate requirements in a format which can be handed to IT and which are appropriate to the project and the delivery method, including translating business processes into technical workflows and data exchange requirements
  • Capture and validate acceptance criteria ensuring line of sight to project outcomes
  • Support Product Owner and test managers to develop user stories and user acceptance test criteria through the project lifecycle, supporting the testing of APIs and data flows including defining mock data
  • Working with third party developers throughout agile delivery
Skills and Experience Specification
Essential
  • Experience in production of business user stories and business requirements documents
  • Using Dev Ops to log and manage change requests
  • Experience in process mapping (level 1-4)
  • Entity relationship diagrams
  • Confident with SQL and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of APIs
  • Experience in strategic analysis (SWOT/Porter 5 Forces/Balance Scorecard)
  • Develop requirements traceability matrix
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication and working style to suit different audiences
  • Detail‑oriented and well‑organised, with a proven ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
  • A natural ability to apply a pragmatic and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Good communicator, with the capability to engage with senior stakeholders and IT teams
  • Clear and confident communicator, both in writing and speech, with a professional curiosity that supports learning and goal achievement.
