Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be an experienced Business Analyst responsible for supporting both change initiatives and business-as-usual operations within our Surety line. The role centres on the analysis and production of detailed requirements and user stories, working closely with development and testing teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions. Candidates should bring proven experience in IT delivery, with a preference for those who have worked in multi-vendor setup and various policy administration systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, product teams, and IT delivery specialists to gather and analyse user requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of functional needs across system integration and business processes.
  • Creating technical artefacts such as detailed user stories, specifications, integration documentation, process flows, and supporting materials that guide development and solution delivery, with some focus on API-related elements as relevant.
  • Coordinating with third-party developers and external partners to facilitate the integration and delivery of technical solutions, maintaining alignment with agile methodologies and project timelines.
  • Providing cross-functional support to associated workstreams such as testing, migration, and finance, ensuring that end-to-end business requirements are met with particular emphasis on API-driven integration and data flows.
  • Representing business interests throughout the development lifecycle to confirm that proposed solutions and deliverables meet stakeholder requirements and broader strategic goals.
  • Actively participating in agile sprint ceremonies-including stand-ups, reviews, planning sessions, and retrospectives-with a focus on delivery activities and outcomes, including those related to system and API integration as appropriate.

  • Ability to work on future phases of the of the system roll out.
Skills and Experience Specification
Essential
  • Ability to understand and analyse requirements and write effective and efficient requirement specifications / user stories using INVEST criteria.
  • Agile/scrum experience.
  • Strong interaction and communication skills to quickly establish rapport with business and technical SME personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent documentation skills to create clear business level specifications.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a business analyst.
  • Experience with IT system implementation.
Desirable
  • Experience in working within the general insurance industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of Surety Bonds.
