Job description
Business Analyst – Revenue (Fixed term / Secondment until May 2026)

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our client’s Customer Revenue Billing Team—a team at the heart of transforming how we deliver innovative, user‑focused billing solutions. In this role you’ll be instrumental in driving forward enhancements to our systems, particularly through hands‑on engagement with cloud updates in our CCS platform.

Responsibilities
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for our cloud updates: define test criteria, create test cases, coordinate sessions, document issues and ensure smooth deployment.
  • Perform ledger reconciliations and billing checks to guarantee accuracy and integrity in CCS processes; investigate discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate business processes: analyse workflows, design technical and procedural enhancements, and deliver solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Act as the crucial link between business teams, IT, and project leads, ensuring all requirements are clearly documented and understood; explain complex concepts to different audiences and support training and user guidance.
  • Monitor UAT progress, track results and risks, and follow up on the impact of improvements post‑implementation to continuously deliver value.
Qualifications
  • Solid financial acumen with knowledge of accounting practices, reconciliations and controls.
  • Confidence working with data, advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with Power BI and Power Automate.
  • Analytical mindset to break down problems, pinpoint root causes and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Cohesionist who enjoys working with others to bring about change—collaborative, inquisitive, and keen to keep learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership.
Benefits
  • 38 days holiday per year (including public holidays) with the option to buy five additional days; paid time off to volunteer.
  • Family‑friendly policies for adoption, maternity and parental leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a balanced hybrid model that encourages spending half the time in a Scottish Water location.
  • Pension scheme and life assurance.
  • Annual company bonus and access to SW Splash rewards to save on holidays, bills and shopping.
Salary & Terms

This role is a Grade 6 Fixed term / Secondment opportunity until May 2026. The starting salary is £33,560 with performance‑driven pay progression up to a maximum of £44,140.

Working Hours & Location

Balanced Hybrid working is encouraged; we support working half the time in a Scottish Water location.

Application Deadline

We will be accepting applications until midnight on the 17th of December.
