Business Analyst - Belfast (Hybrid)

Are you a skilled Business Analyst with a passion for driving change and improving business processes?

My client, a leading organisation within the energy sector, is seeking a talented Business Analyst to join their Projects team. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-impact initiatives across the business, working closely with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of key strategic projects.

The Role

As a Business Analyst, you'll work alongside project teams and business stakeholders to identify, define, and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and business performance. You'll act as a bridge between business users and technical teams, supporting project management activities and ensuring that all deliverables align with strategic objectives.

This position offers the opportunity to work on varied projects, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and gain hands‑on experience within a structured PMO environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, map, and improve business processes in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyse business requirements using a range of investigative and analytical techniques.
  • Proactively analyse data to identify process trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Develop and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, securing buy‑in at all levels.
  • Support business change initiatives and lead post‑implementation reviews to ensure lasting improvements.
  • Act as the key link between business users, technical teams, and external suppliers to facilitate project success.
  • Take ownership of specific projects or workstreams where required, supporting the wider project team and PMO.
  • Ensure documentation, reporting, and project artefacts meet internal quality and compliance standards.
About You

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a project or change environment.
  • Strong understanding of business process design, requirements gathering, and documentation techniques.
  • Experience building effective relationships with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Skilled at using data and analysis to inform decisions and drive business improvements.

Desirable Experience:

  • Business Analyst certification (e.g. BCS, Chartered Institute of IT).
  • Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Experience working within the utilities or energy sector.
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification (e.g. IT, Computing, Business).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The Details
  • Location: Belfast - hybrid working model
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
