Job summary

AAB, a leading professional services firm, is recruiting for a Tax Advisor within Business Advisory in Bolton. You will prepare annual tax compliance for diverse clients, assist with planning projects, and support onboarding of new clients, while collaborating across teams to share knowledge and drive client value.

Qualifications

• Progress toward or full qualification in a UK tax role.
• Experience in tax compliance or advisory work.
• Strong understanding of UK tax rules and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual tax compliance for companies, individuals and partnerships.
• Assist with corporate, personal and capital taxes planning projects.
• Support remuneration planning and benefits-in-kind advice.
• Assist with succession planning and capital gains tax assignments.
• Identify tax issues and seek guidance from senior colleagues when needed.
• Manage a client portfolio, meeting deadlines and service standards.
• Build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare proposals, engagement letters and fee quotes for new work.
• Assist onboarding of new clients per firm procedures.
• Collaborate with Business Advisory and Private Client teams.
• Contribute to technical updates, articles and knowledge sharing.
• Support and coach junior team members.

ROLE PURPOSE

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare annual tax compliance work for companies, individuals and partnerships.
• Assist with corporate tax, personal tax and capital taxes planning projects.
• Support tax-efficient remuneration planning and benefits-in-kind advice.
• Assist with succession planning and capital gains tax assignments.
• Identify wider tax issues and seek guidance from senior colleagues where specialist input is required.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with the preparation of proposals, engagement letters and fee quotations for new work.
• Support the onboarding of new clients in line with firm procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Business Advisory Services and Private Client teams.
• Contribute to technical updates, articles, presentations and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Support and coach junior team members where appropriate.

Experience & qualifications

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification in progress or qualified (e.g. ATT, CTA, CA or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a tax compliance or advisory role.
• Good understanding of UK tax compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience using tax software, preferably CCH.
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
