Overview

We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Advisor to join this renowned charity in Tooting, London who provides business support to young people by providing one to one business support sessions, interactive workshops, tailored business programmes, spaces to test trade from and business mentoring from industry experts and founders.

About the company

Our client transforms young lives through enterprise by offering holistic and personalised business guidance and support to in-need marginalised young entrepreneurs across London, aged 16 to 30 through workshops, programmes and 1 : 1 business coaching. They work in collaboration with young people to enable them to start their own business or move into employment or / and education and training. They aim to develop approaches that empower, support and encourage young people to build confidence, follow their aspirations and fulfil their potential.

About the role

It is important that our Business Advisor can create a supportive environment where young marginalised people feel comfortable to express their ideas and plans, while feeling safe to discuss the barriers and hurdles that they face. On being a trusted advocate in their business journey, you will be an agent of positive change not only on their route to market but also in their overall life with increased communication skills, resilience and confidence and you will :

  • Run effective 121 Business Support sessions
  • Facilitate business development workshops
  • Be an advocate for our young people
  • Develop the enterprise connections and resources young people need to experience a business idea

About you

To be successful for the role of Business Advisor you need to be results focused and able to champion our client’s community of young people to build their business growth mind-sets, develop a good base of business skills, shape a positive financial future and grow meaningful networks and you will ideally have / be :

  • Passionate about creating positive change and impact in young people
  • Able to build strong rapport with young people from different backgrounds facing different challenges
  • Take initiative to create or innovate opportunities and open doors for the clients you are working with
  • Previous business support experience, sound business knowledge or lived experiences of business development (e.g you may have started your own business etc)
  • A business advice or development qualification and / or experience in youth work, especially in outreach and working with young people who a harder to reach and face multiple barriers

The role of Business Advisor will require a successful DBS and a Level 3 safeguarding (can be trained on the job) and we would welcome applicants with lived experience of facing barriers and / or experience working with young people who have traditionally been harder to reach and face multiple barriers.

Hours & rewards

For the role of Business Advisor, there is an excellent salary on offer of £26,000 to £30,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience plus you will receive :
