About the role

This role supports the development and ongoing maintenance of the Safety Technical Competency (STC) framework and plays a key part in managing the business’s competence management strategy. It ensures that systems and processes are in place to maintain a skilled, compliant, and competent workforce.

What you’ll be doing
  • Maintain and update the competence system and associated competence passports.
  • Provide system support and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Monitor data quality and security standards, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Respond to general queries regarding the competency systems and framework.
  • Support the Compliance Lead with ongoing audits of the competence system.
  • Assist the technical training team with administrative tasks and team coverage.
  • Produce monthly reports on competency status.
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as accreditations and standards.
About you

You’ll be detail-oriented and highly organised, with a strong sense of accountability and a collaborative approach. You’ll be confident working with systems and data, and thrive in environments where accuracy and compliance are key. You’ll have great communication skills which will help you build effective relationships across teams and support others.

Key requirements & experience
  • Knowledge of Safety Technical Competency requirements and associated training.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative requirements, company standards, and procedures.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a business administration or management discipline - desirable.
