A prominent healthcare organization in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to its Transfusion team. The role involves managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and ensuring smooth communication among teams. Candidates must have strong organizational skills, experience in administrative roles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The position offers 27 days of annual leave plus a pension scheme and opportunities for growth.
An opportunity has arisen to become part of our Transfusion team.
This important role will assist in supporting the work of NHS Blood and Transplant which offers a wide range of clinical services including patient treatments, provision of specialist transfusion advice and the collection, processing and testing of around 2.5 million blood donations each year.
The role will provide admin support to two of our Consultants with additional admin support within the Transfusion Team. Tasks will include diary and inbox management, scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, budget management, expenses, minute taking, preparing papers and reports for meetings. You will be required to arrange a large number of meetings, and organise educational events, therefore the ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines under pressure is essential.
It is also essential that you are fully competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You must be highly customer focused, have excellent communication skills and be expected to communicate at all levels within NHSBT and other external professional bodies, therefore confidentiality will need to be maintained at all times. The successful candidate must also be a team player, highly organised, be able to multitask whilst under pressure and have a positive approach.

This post will be based at one of our Birmingham centres and there will be the need to travel to other NHSBT locations and meeting venues and this needs to be taken into consideration before applying for the position.
