A local government authority is seeking a qualified Bushfire Risk Mitigation Coordinator to lead programs and manage risks effectively. With a strong focus on community safety and environmental stewardship, we work in partnership with landholders, volunteer brigades and government agencies to actively manage bushfire risk.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join the organisation in the full‑time role of Bushfire Risk Mitigation Coordinator. This role is pivotal in planning, implementing and monitoring bushfire risk mitigation programs in line with legislative requirements, strategic objectives, and best practice standards. Your work will help reduce bushfire risk while safeguarding environmental values and biodiversity.
The role will be hosted by the Shire of Wagin for the duration of the DFES funding grant and will deliver bushfire risk mitigation activities across Wagin and other local government areas. The successful applicant will be based at the DFES office in High Wycombe, with regular travel to Wagin and other regions as required.
Full Time / Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2028
Competitive Salary: $100,561 per year
