Transport for London is seeking a Bus Safety Development Manager to lead and deliver safety initiatives within the Bus Safety Programme, collaborating with internal teams and external operators to achieve Vision Zero targets. The role involves managing multiple complex projects, procuring specialists, and driving safety innovations in data-led safety issues.
The post requires extensive experience in safety programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and strong project management.

Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
The job holder will play a critical role in further developing and delivering the Bus Safety Programme to achieve the Mayor's and TfL's Vision Zero targets for the bus network. The job holder will also work collaboratively within the Bus Safety Development team, with key internal interfaces (e.g. SHE and Engineering) and external stakeholders (e.g. Bus Operators) to deliver the Bus Action Plan safety requirements and the Bus Safety Strategy actions, to deliver progressive improvements against Key Performance Indicators in the Bus Operations and TfL Scorecards.
The job holder will lead and manage multiple complex projects through matrix teams and procuring specialist consultants, including looking for opportunities for innovation in safety that can be applied to the bus industry and address data-led safety issues.
Extensive experience of producing good quality reports, briefings and data to influence senior stakeholders (essential)
