Job summary
Caledonian Recruitment Group Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to join a leading London bus operator near the Hillingdon area. You will report to the Engineering Manager and oversee a busy engineering operation maintaining a large fleet of buses to high safety, reliability and regulatory standards.
The role covers workshop activity, staff, vehicle availability and fleet performance, ensuring maintenance and inspections are carried out in line with company
Qualifications
- Experience as engineering manager or supervisor in PSV/HGV sectors.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and meet KPIs.
- Qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day PSV engineering operation and fleet performance.
- Lead Technicians, Chargehands, Supervisors and Engineers.
- Ensure vehicle availability and reliability targets are met.
- Oversee planned maintenance, servicing and repairs.
- Support engineering KPI delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement across the engineering department.
- Develop and mentor staff to maximise performance.
