Job description
Overview

West Coast Motors is a privately owned family business established in the early 1920's. We operate buses and coaches on a mix of school contracts, local services, school and private group hires across Argyll with local depots in Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, Oban, Mull, Bute and Dunoon.

Job title and location

We are looking for a Bus and Coach Mechanic based at our Glasgow depot to help maintain our fleet and ensure we operate to the highest possible standards.

Main responsibilities
  • Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation)
  • Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company’s Operator Licence
  • The ability to organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly
  • The ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards
Requirements for the role
  • You will be energetic, self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and thrive within a challenging yet rewarding environment
  • You will have at least an SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance qualification (or an equivalent international qualification). If you don\'t have a qualification, you should have at least two years\' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles which you will need to evidence
  • The role will be 5 days over 7
  • A driving licence is required and PCV licence would be good to have, however we can help you get your licenc through our in-house training school
