Job description
Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing clinical data, ensuring accuracy, validity and timely presentation of data.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an environment which facilitates and promotes high standards in information governance and data quality.
  • Managing and monitoring information on behalf of the service that meets the requirements of QVH, NHS Commissioners, Integrated Care Board, London and South East Burns Network (LSEBN) and other NHS bodies.
  • Represent the QVH Burns Service in relation to any data or informatics issues.
  • Provide project management skills to assist in the on-going development of the Burns Service, working closely with the burns Multi-disciplinary Team.
  • Manage and maintain the International Burns Injury Database (IBID), including managing any database migration, attending appropriate meetings and training workshops and provide statistical information for the burns unit on activity and outcomes.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of information systems in liaison with the Burns MDT team, providing statistical information and data analysis reports for monthly, quarterly and annual activity and other ad hoc requests for information.
  • Responsibility for maintaining data accuracy and identifying and resolving any data quality issues.
  • Analysing, formatting and presenting complex information in an easily understandable format.
  • Responsibility for generating reports from the information system, to include analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data to the Burns governance meeting, Business Unit Meetings, other Trust governance groups and LSEBN as required.
  • Receiving and providing complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • To reconcile month end data to ensure all in-patient activity and dependency costing’s are accurately recorded to meet the financial requirements of the Trust, the Commissioners and the London and South East England Burns Network (LSEBN).
  • To manage and provide audit and data information required by the Burns team and LSEBN, including dependency data, activity and audit information.
  • To be involved in collecting and presenting activity data for the purposes of clinical audit and clinical governance and represent the burns service for information purposes as required.
  • Work with data quality to resolve any burn related queries.
  • Generate reports from the information system, to include analysis, interpretation and presentation of data to senior Trust members and for Burns and Critical Care governance and Business Unit Meetings.
  • Be self‑motivated, able to prioritise own workload and to meet deadlines with tight timescales.
  • To maintain an awareness of organisational developments.
  • To verify, monitor and process relevant data to ensure information is current and correct.
  • Represent department at information sharing meetings as required.
  • To respect the confidentiality of all matters relating to patients and members of staff in accordance with the Current Data Protection legislation.
  • To be a proactive team member, sharing knowledge and information.
