Responsibilities

• The Fitter provides essential technical support to either the Engine or Deck department, reporting to the Second Engineer or Chief Officer depending on the vessel's needs.
• The primary responsibility involves assisting with the manual maintenance and repair of machinery, plant, and technical equipment under the direct guidance of an Engineer Officer.
• This includes supporting watchkeepers during routine operations and participating in specialized mechanical tasks while strictly adhering to shipboard safety protocols.
• Beyond technical repairs, the Fitter is expected to carry out any additional duties assigned by senior engineering staff to ensure efficient ship operations.
• The role demands an orderly approach to manual tasks, a strong commitment to teamwork, and the ability to follow complex technical instructions accurately.
