Built Environment Business Development Manager

Location: London (Hybrid – Office & Remote)

Contract: Contract or Part-time or Full-time, 3–5 days per week

Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (pro rata) + commission

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing sustainability and clean technology business operating within the built environment and EV infrastructure sector. The organisation is helping to transform how residential and commercial developments integrate electric vehicle charging and future-proofed energy solutions.

As Built Environment Business Development Manager, you’ll lead commercial activity across the construction and housing sectors — building relationships with developers, architects, and technology partners to drive adoption of innovative green infrastructure solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how to navigate the built environment ecosystem and wants to apply their experience to a mission-led, forward-thinking organisation making a real environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on housebuilders, property developers, architects, consultants, and infrastructure providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure new commercial partnerships and revenue opportunities across the UK.
  • Represent the company at relevant industry events, tradeshows, and forums.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align sales activity with marketing, operations, and product development.
  • Produce proposals and presentations that clearly communicate commercial value, sustainability benefits, and cost efficiencies.
  • Track and manage pipeline activity using CRM tools, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven track record in business development or account management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, energy, or sustainability sectors.
  • Strong commercial understanding of the built environment supply chain.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and building partnerships at senior stakeholder level.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence presenting to external audiences.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passionate about sustainability, clean technology, and the transition to net zero.
  • CRM proficiency and a digitally fluent approach to lead and relationship management.
What’s on Offer
  • £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience.
  • Commission and bonus incentives for successful business wins.
  • Flexible working options (3–5 days per week).
  • Hybrid setup – remote work combined with regular collaboration at a London office.
