Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor/Project Manager to support the Asset Programme in West Midlands. We are recruiting:Building Surveyor/Project Manager (FM)

Rate:Negotiable (Inside IR35)
Contract:Interim – 3 months initially
Location:West Midlands

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with Project Management and FM experience to support the Asset Programme.

This role is focusing on providing day-to-day technical and programme support across the council’s operational estate, working closely with the council’s FM delivery partner.

The postholder will act as a key liaison between the council and the FM provider, ensuring works are scoped, commissioned, monitored and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional building surveying support across the council’s property portfolio
  • Act as the interface between the council and the FM provider
  • Oversee and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance works
  • Support delivery of works within the Asset Programme, ensuring compliance with standards and budgets
  • Manage small to medium works packages and support project delivery activity
  • Review condition surveys, schedules of works and contractor performance
  • Support commissioning, monitoring and quality assurance of FM services
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, programme teams and external suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, health & safety and building regulations
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor within:
    • Local authority
    • Public sector
    • Large estate / complex asset environment
  • Experience working with or managing FM providers / outsourced FM contracts
  • Some project management experience
  • Strong understanding of asset management and BAU property operations
