Are you an experienced construction professional looking to make a real impact? bpha is seeking a proactive and skilled Building Surveyor - Project Manager to join our Operations team. In this pivotal role, you'll deliver project management for annual planned and cyclical maintenance work, ensuring our homes and communities remain safe, high-quality, and compliant.

  • Manage and deliver planned and cyclical maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and bpha's corporate and asset strategies.
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders, including contract management of supply chain partners.
  • Oversee project budgets, working closely with management and finance teams to monitor and report on annual spend.
  • Ensure all works meet health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards, including compliance with CDM regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead contractor management, monitoring performance, chairing progress meetings, and resolving issues to maintain high standards.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, engaging with residents and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Support the wider team, providing advice, deputising for the Senior Project Manager, and ensuring seamless service delivery.
    We are especially interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in social housing, gained through work with either local authorities or housing associations., Numerate with strong communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Excellent customer care skills and a commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Experienced in construction, ideally with knowledge of residential maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation (including CDM 2015) and issues affecting residential properties.
  • Experience managing contracts and budgets.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant specialist software.
  • HNC/HND in Construction Management or equivalent demonstrable experience. Desirable:
  • Experience in social housing, particularly with local authorities or housing associations.
  • Knowledge of Section 20 Leasehold Consultation.
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), or similar.
