Job summary

Our client in London seeks an experienced Building Surveyor with strong project management skills to handle claims arising from fire, flood, storm and related perils. You will assess damage, validate policy scope, and manage contractors from initial inspection through final reporting.

The role requires a Building Surveying degree, MRICS or AssocRICS preferred, and proficiency with CAD, CDM Regulations and relevant building legislation. Excellent communication and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying (BSc Hons).
• MRICS or AssocRICS qualification.
• Knowledge of CAD, CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall Act 1996, Building Regulations and Planning Legislation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Claim Evaluation: Review client information and conduct site visits to validate claims.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with policyholders to gather information and inform decisions.
• Claim Validation: Use tools to create repair schedules and assess variations per policy terms.
• Project Management: Oversee the claim process from damage assessment to final report submission.
• Compliance: Ensure processes comply with policies and Health & Safety legislation.
• Contractor Management: Appoint contractors and provide clear instructions at outset.
