An established Social Housing Provider seeks a Technical Repairs Surveyor for a remote role in East Hastings. Qualifications

  • Experience in technical repairs surveyance, disrepair, or related housing sector roles preferred.

  • Ability to manage client relationships and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with case management systems and data recording; attention to data security.

  • Learn and update systems to support the work and record information securely.
  • Deal with all technical aspects of cases and coordinate essential repairs.
  • Liaise closely and establish good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Plan workload effectively and conduct post-remediation inspections.
  • Access to customer properties is essential with a flexible approach.

Overview

Our client, an established Social Housing Provider, has an immediate requirement for a Technical Repairs Surveyor. Location: East Hastings. Term: initially 3 months. Rate: 32.94 per hour Umbrella, with mileage rate (45p) available from home location. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee individual caseloads consisting of live disrepair claims (including damp and associated repairs).
  • Handle party wall awards, repair diagnostic cases, and referrals from repairs teams, health and safety, and environmental teams.
  • Undertake training and act in an advisory capacity for colleagues across the business; may from time to time give expert evidence in court.
  • Be the customer-facing, visible presence attending our buildings and act as the main contact for customers while their case is being processed; see works through to completion.
  • Work unsupervised and be highly organised.
  • Learn and update systems to support the work; record information securely and ensure remedial actions are processed.
  • Deal with all technical aspects of cases; carry out and coordinate essential repairs; aim to avoid liability from legal disrepair action wherever possible and, where not possible, mitigate claims effectively.
  • Liaise closely and establish good working relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Plan workload effectively; identify defects; add work to the relevant database; conduct post-remediation inspections to close out actions.
  • Access to customer properties is essential and may require a flexible approach to survey customer requests/concerns at times suitable for the customer.
