Our Strategic Property service area manages a wide range of non-housing assets across Brighton & Hove, including civic buildings, schools, commercial properties, leisure facilities, museums, theatres and historic buildings. The Building Surveying team delivers asset maintenance projects and services to diverse clients, customers and communities. No two days are the same in the Team! We are looking for a Building Surveyor to help deliver planned maintenance, refurbishment and compliance projects that ensure these important assets remain safe, sustainable and fit for purpose.
As a Building Surveyor, you will deliver professional surveying services across the council's corporate property portfolio.
You will carry out building inspections, condition surveys and defect diagnosis, develop solutions, prepare specifications and contract documentation, and manage projects through procurement, delivery and completion. Working alongside Senior Building Surveyors and a multidisciplinary professional team, you will play a key role in delivering planned maintenance and capital projects that provide value for money and support the council's wider strategic objectives.
