The Building Surveyor - Diagnostics is a technical post (PO7) within the London Borough of Islington's Housing Property Services / Repairs and Maintenance unit. The primary function of the role is to act as the key technical specialist responsible for visiting customers in their homes and identifying defects which are the Council's responsibility to repair.
The Surveyor will diagnose the cause of building failures, arrange and oversee remedial works, provide tailored advice, and manage cases relating to complex issues like damp, mould, condensation, subsidence, and insurance claims. This role requires a highly organised and proactive individual able to manage their own caseload, administer contracts, and prepare detailed technical reports for senior review.
