The Role

As a Contract Building Surveyor, you’ll be at the heart of a high‑performing repairs and maintenance service. You’ll:

  • Carry out inspections and surveys, preparing detailed schedules of works (SOR codes).
  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, budget, and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee contract performance, procurement, and financial control.
  • Ensure compliance with building, health & safety, and legislative standards.
  • Deliver excellent communication and service to residents and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement across the housing service, sharing ideas and innovation.
About You
  • Qualified or working towards RICS (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in housing repairs, building maintenance, or surveying.
  • Strong understanding of building construction, contracts, and regulations.
  • Skilled communicator with a resident‑first mindset.
  • Able to balance technical expertise with practical problem‑solving.
  • Flexible, self‑motivated, and ready to hit the ground running.
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable).
