Building Surveyor
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum, plus benefits.
Location: Office based with site visits as required.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Building Surveyor looking to develop their career across a diverse range of projects. The role offers exposure to professional surveying services, project management, contract administration, dilapidations, maintenance projects, client advisory work, with ongoing support towards professional development and chartership where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Undertake building inspections, condition surveys and defect analysis.
- Identify maintenance requirements and prepare recommendations.
- Assist with schedules of condition, dilapidations and technical specifications.
- Support delivery of refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- Prepare project documentation, specifications and tender information.
- Monitor project progress and programme performance.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, consultants and clients.
- Assist with contract administration duties.
- Review valuations, variations and contractor applications.
- Support project cost reporting and financial monitoring.
- Monitor quality standards and contractual compliance.Ensure projects comply with Building Regulations, planning requirements and industry standards.
- Produce professional technical reports and project updates.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good understanding of construction methods and building technology.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and associated construction legislation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a Building Surveying or construction environment.
- Experience delivering maintenance or refurbishment projects.
- Understanding of contract administration processes.
- Experience using AutoCAD or surveying software.
- Working towards or holding RICS membership.
- CSCS Card or willingness to obtain one.
