Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a professional to join the Building Standards & Public Safety verification team in Scotland. You will technically assess building warrant applications, conduct compliance inspections, and manage a high-volume verification workload across varied projects.

The role requires a degree in construction-related subjects, experience in Building Standards & Public Safety, and travel to Fife office locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in a construction-related subject.
• Experience within a Building Standards & Public Safety setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical standards.
• Experience delivering verification services.
• Must provide a Supporting Statement; applications without one will not be progressed.
• Ability to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

Responsibilities

• Technically assess building warrant applications.
• Handle compliance inspections.
• Work as part of the Building Standards & Public Safety verification team.
• Manage verification work for around 3,000 building warrant applications annually, ranging from small-scale projects to large and complex non-domestic buildings.
• Collaborate with Environmental Health and Trading Standards to deliver statutory and advisory services focused on public health and consumer safety.
