Qualifications

  • Reliable and skilled with a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Participate in training to enhance technical competency.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Support safe working practices in line with engineering standards.
  • Diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.

Skills

Electrical or Mechanical qualification (Level 2 or equivalent)
Legionella Awareness training
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering environment
Practical knowledge of general maintenance, compliance, and engineering best practices
Ability to work independently and safely within defined procedures
IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office and CMMS
Good communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of Helpdesk and work order systems

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Building Services Technician to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure our site operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest engineering standards.

You will play a key part in maintaining equipment, supporting operational events, and assisting in the oversight of subcontractor activities.

As a Building Services Technician you'll:

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and inspections of site areas and plant rooms.
  • Support safe working practices in line with Sodexo’s engineering standards and statutory requirements.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs within technical capability.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Site Lead, Helpdesk, and end users to prioritise maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise or escort subcontractors as required, ensuring compliance with site rules and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Participate in escalation response during emergencies, including out-of-hours support if required.
  • Undertake relevant training to maintain and develop technical competency.
  • Contribute to sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of maintenance work and resource usage.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
