Job summary

The Trafford & Stockport College Group is seeking a Building Services Technician to support plumbing and electrical installation workshops. You will manage stock levels and tools, audit the storeroom, and help deliver hands-on workshops for teaching staff and apprentices, working as part of a dedicated team that values people and collaborative learning.

• Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or electrical installation or equivalent industry experience.
• Literacy and numeracy at level 2 or higher.
• First Aid qualification and Fire Marshall training desirable.

Job description

As technician in Building Services, you will be responsible for providing high quality support, primarily in plumbing and electrical installation workshops to enable the Group to meet the standards required in practical classes. This will involve ensuring stock levels or tools and equipment are maintained, auditing the storeroom and facilitating the delivery of workshops supporting teaching members of staff. Team working and communications within an overall approach that values people will be of key importance.

To be successful at application stage it would be advantageous if you have a level 2 or 3 qualification in either plumbing or electrical installation, or have equivalent experience working in the industry. You should be qualified to level 2 and ideally have literacy & numeracy at level 2. Additionally, it would be desirable to hold a relevant and current First Aid qualification and be Fire Marshall trained or be willing to undertake the training.
