Job summary

Zest4Talent is recruiting a Building Services Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join a Nottingham-based consultancy. You will design building services from concept to construction, produce calculations and specs using Revit, AutoCAD and industry software, and work closely with architects, engineers and clients to deliver low-carbon, compliant solutions across commercial projects.

Training and progression towards Chartership are supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience within an MEP consultancy or design environment.
• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and industry software such as IES VE, Hevacomp, Dialux, Amtech, SAP or iSBEM.
• Good understanding of low-carbon building design and current Building Regulations.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Working towards professional membership and Chartership with CIBSE, IET or IMechE is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Designing mechanical or electrical building services from concept through to construction.
• Producing engineering calculations, load assessments and detailed designs using Revit, AutoCAD and industry software.
• Preparing technical specifications, reports and project documentation.
• Working closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and clients throughout project delivery.

Are you a Building Services Engineer looking to join a growing consultancy where you'll work on a diverse range of sustainable building projects and have genuine opportunities for career progression?

Zest4Talent is recruiting for a Building Services Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join an ambitious and collaborative consultancy based in Nottingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the full RIBA design process, developing innovative, low‑carbon engineering solutions while collaborating with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. You'll gain exposure to a varied project portfolio and receive ongoing support towards professional development and Chartership.

What you will be doing

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years’ experience within an MEP consultancy or design & build environment
• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline)
• Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and relevant design software such as IES VE, Hevacomp, Dialux, Amtech, SAP or iSBEM
• Good understanding of low‑carbon building design, renewable technologies and current Building Regulations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships
• Working towards (or keen to achieve) professional membership and Chartership with CIBSE, IET or IMechE would be advantageous
