Overview
We are currently looking for a Building Services Engineer to join a growing team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly on site, carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installations. Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair work across a wide range of building service systems, including HVAC, lighting, power and water systems
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify faults and areas for improvement in building services systems
- Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
- Manage planned maintenance schedules to ensure systems are running efficiently and prevent unexpected breakdowns
- Liaise with site managers and other contractors to ensure smooth coordination of work across various sites
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly and effectively
- Assist in the commissioning of new systems, ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including repairs, inspections and installations
- Provide clients with technical support and advice on best practices for system maintenance and energy efficiency
Skills & Experience
- A relevant Qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in building services engineering with a focus on hands on work, maintenance and system installation
- Experience working with various building services systems, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, lighting and fire alarm systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and fault resolution
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility for your own tasks, and manage your time effectively across multiple sites
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent)
- Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) or smart building technology would be advantageous
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or equivalent is a plus
- Additional certifications in fire alarm systems or access control would be beneficial
