Karntek Ltd, a leading fire safety consultancy based in Stafford, is seeking a Building Safety Compliance Manager to oversee compliance operations and ensure our clients adhere to building safety regulations. This is a pivotal role that combines leadership, expertise in compliance, and a commitment to enhancing fire safety standards.

As the Building Safety Compliance Manager, you will lead and oversee the building safety compliance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance services for Karntek Ltd and our clients. This role is based in our offices in Stafford, and your primary responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

People Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. ensuring all building safety cases, project management of remedial works, and associated services are accurate, timely, and completed to the required standard.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews and support career development plans.
  • Drive team engagement, motivation and accountability across all levels of the Operations Department.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Senior Leadership Team, Management and team members, ensuring alignment with company goals and values.
  • Manage staffing requirements, recruitment and onboarding for your team.

Performance Management:

  • Provide direction
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings
  • Track, measure, and analyse key operational performance indicators (KPIs) across departments
  • Manage performance and oversee team absence in line with company policies.
  • Identify performance trends variances and areas requiring corrective actions.

Building Safety Cases:

  • Collaborate with clients and our internal team to gather the necessary information for preparing comprehensive Building Safety Cases in line with the latest regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and contractors on project management of remedial works, to deliver projects to timescales agreed and manage expectations of each party.

Compliance Strategies/Audits:

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the efficient delivery of building safety cases across the team.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of team output to ensure compliance with current building safety regulations and company standards.
  • Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks across departments

Training/Coaching and Development:

  • Review team resources,
  • Standard operating procedures and provide appropriate training and development opportunities to ensure team members perform effectively.
  • On the job Training and Coaching.

Planning and Reporting:

  • Transparent communication with the Head of Operations around planning and reporting.
  • Prepare and present regular delivery reports to senior management and recommend areas for improvement. This includes calculating and managing future capacity of the team.
  • Prepare financial and operational forecasts in collaboration.
  • Experience in building safety compliance or a related field, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations is preferable but not essential.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
  • Relevant qualifications in fire safety, health and safety, or building management are desirable.
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies within a consultancy or regulated environment.
