Building Management System (BMS) Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Building Management System Engineer to join a technical team responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of facility control systems. The successful candidate will be experienced with BMS platforms and proven in configuring, commissioning and fault-finding on Trend and Tridium systems.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure and commission BMS controllers, field devices and associated networks.
- Program, modify and troubleshoot Trend and Tridium (Niagara) systems to meet building operational requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and corrective repairs on BMS hardware and software.
- Monitor system performance, tune control strategies and implement energy-saving measures.
- Produce clear technical documentation, wiring diagrams, site reports and commissioning records.
- Provide on-site and remote support to building services and facilities teams, including planned works and emergency response.
- Collaborate with HVAC, electrical and maintenance teams during upgrades, refurbishments and new builds.
Essential skills and experience
- Proven hands-on experience working with Building Management Systems.
- Practical experience configuring and programming Trend and Tridium (Niagara) BMS platforms.
- Strong fault-finding skills for controllers, I/O, networks and field devices.
- Understanding of HVAC plant, sensors, actuators, valves, pumps and control loops.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and clear commissioning/test reports.
- Full UK/EU driving licence (or equivalent) or ability to travel between sites as required.
Qualifications
- Electrical, building services, control systems or similar technical qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ, apprenticeship or degree).
- Manufacturer or platform-specific training/certification in Trend and Tridium is highly desirable.

- Methodical, proactive and safety conscious with strong attention to detail.
- Good communicator able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently and managing priorities across multiple sites.
