🧰 Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician

📍 Location: Darlington

🏢 About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician with a immediate start to help maintain our buildings, facilities, and grounds to a high standard.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the workplace is safe, functional, and comfortable for all staff by carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.

💷 Pay: £13.00 per hour
🕗 Hours of Work: 8:00am – 1400 (6 hours per day, some flexibility on start time)
📅 Additional Hours: Occasional weekend or extra hours during the week may be required (paid at overtime rate).

🔧 Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
  • Replace light fittings, bulbs, and sensors as required.
  • Support with basic decorating and paintwork repairs.
  • Move furniture and equipment safely when needed.
  • Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of all facilities and outdoor areas.
  • Conduct safety inspections and keep accurate records (e.g., emergency lighting, fire systems).
  • Monitor and support contractors, ensuring compliance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives.
  • Be available for on-call duties and other reasonable tasks as required.
