Overview

Building Maintenance Technician – Location: Sheffield (on-site). Hours: 35 hours per week, early Friday finish. Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience).

We\'re working with a well-established organisation in Sheffield to recruit a Building Maintenance Technician to join their facilities team. This is a hands-on, full-time position responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety, and smooth running of multiple sites in the area. The role covers all aspects of building fabric maintenance, including planned inspections, reactive repairs, and general support for site operations. You\'ll play a key part in maintaining a safe, well-presented working environment for all staff and visitors.

What You\'ll Be Doing
  • Carry out day-to-day building maintenance, including joinery, brickwork, ceiling repairs, and general upkeep
  • Repair or replace fixtures, fittings, and furniture as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve issues before they escalate
  • Support with basic grounds maintenance, such as pathways, signage, and fencing
  • Liaise with and assist specialist contractors for electrical, plumbing, or other trade work
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and to a high standard
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and reports
What We\'re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a general maintenance or building technician role
  • A good all-round skillset covering building fabric repairs and upkeep
  • Ability to prioritise work across multiple sites and respond to urgent issues
  • Strong awareness of health & safety standards
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours when required
  • Comfortable working at heights when necessary
Hours & Benefits
  • Working hours:
    • Monday to Wednesday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
    • Thursday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
    • Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm (early finish!)
