Overview

Role: Building Inspector - Class 3H

Location: Central London office (Hybrid)

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 (Dependent on work you can bring)

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in building control within the new regulatory regime. You will play a vital role in shaping technical standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality buildings. You will be expected to create great relationships with your clients, ideally bringing some of your own contacts with you and also a plan to grow out the division in the coming years with a business plan prepared.

Requirements
  • Registration as aBuilding Inspector (Class 3H).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of building regulations, compliance requirements, and the new regulatory regime.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply regulatory frameworks in complex scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and review of policy, technical standards, and guidance related to building control, building regulations, and Dutyholder compliance.
  • Provide expert advice to inform regulatory frameworks and operational guidance, particularly where building control processes interact with Gateway decisions, golden thread information, or occupation stage duties.
  • Offer specialist building control expertise to multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) convened for Gateway 2 applications, Safety Case Report assessments, and investigations or enforcement cases.
  • Assist technical policy teams—both internally and externally—by contributing expertise at relevant meetings.
