Job description

Building Inspector - £375 per day

📍 Central & West London

🏡 Hybrid: site, home & office

Good buildings don't happen by accident.

They happen because someone checks the detail.

If you're a Building Inspector or Surveyor who cares about quality, fairness and doing right by residents, this is worth a look.

We're working with a well-established housing association in Central & West London that takes standards seriously and backs its people to uphold them.

What you'll be doing

You'll spend around 3.5 days a week on site, inspecting completed repairs and works, with the rest of your time split between home and the office.

Your role will include:
  • Inspecting completed repairs & voids
  • Checking quality, compliance and value for money
  • Calling out defects and making sure they're put right
  • Feeding back on contractor performance
  • Inspecting mutual exchange properties
  • Investigating damp, condensation, disrepair & complaints
  • Signing off works linked to Fire Risk Assessments
  • Writing clear, professional inspection reports

You'll work closely with surveyors, repairs teams and other departments to improve outcomes for residents.

What we're looking for
  • Experience in housing, property maintenance or inspections
  • Knowledge of landlord repairing obligations
  • A good eye for building defects & H&S compliance
  • Confidence writing reports and speaking with residents & contractors
  • A calm, professional, resident-focused approach

You care about standards - and you're comfortable challenging poor work when needed.

Why consider this role?
  • Hybrid working with real flexibility
  • A role where inspections actually lead to action
  • A values-led organisation with social purpose
  • Work that genuinely improves residents' homes
