Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Building Fabric Supervisor to oversee all building fabric maintenance activities on site. You will manage a team to meet health and safety standards, report defects, and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance within a defined region.

You will coordinate labour, manage the on-call rota, carry out audits for compliance and quality, provide training and appraisals, and support the client with timely information and data-driven improvements to service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Background in facilities or mobile maintenance in a construction or similar environment.
  • Qualified to Level 2 or 3 City & Guilds.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safety.
  • HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject matter.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and computer literate.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all activities relating to building fabric maintenance.
  • Ensure team works to high levels of health and safety and statutory requirements.
  • Answer queries, report defects and keep the client informed of site activities at service visits.
  • Undertake periodic reviews of planned maintenance and project activity, ensuring adequate labour with the right skillset.
  • Coordinate labour (direct and sub-contract) to deliver Planned and Reactive Maintenance within a defined region.
  • Manage the On-call rota for the defined region.
  • Undertake routine audits of planned and reactive works to ensure high standards of compliance and quality.
  • Undertake employee appraisals and identify training and development needs.
  • Monitor site performance of sub-contractors; recommend nominations.
  • Ensure Asset database is updated and items are correctly managed.
  • Provide technical and professional support to Maintenance team and client to develop a team approach.
  • Manage employees within a service environment and maximise team performance.
  • Undertake training and appointment as an AP in appropriate disciplines.
  • Collect and provide data related to all estate maintenance operations.
  • Review ongoing performance levels from data/reports.
  • Remain flexible with ability to work under pressure and seek continual improvements to service delivery.
  • Be aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and site policies.

Building Fabric Supervisor

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all activities relating to building fabric maintenance
  • Ensure your team are working to high levels of health and safety and statutory requirements
  • Required to answer queries, report any defects and keep the client informed of site activities at the time of the service visit
  • Undertake periodic reviews of the forthcoming planned maintenance and project activity and ensure adequate labour resources with the correct skillset are in place to support operations.
  • Co-ordinate labour (direct and sub contract) to ensure delivery of the Planned and Reactive Maintenance Service within a defined region, to include management of available resource in periods of sickness and holiday.
  • Manage the On-call rota for the defined region.
  • Undertake routine and ad-hoc audits of both planned and reactive works to ensure high standard. of compliance and quality
  • Undertake employee Appraisals/ Performance Reviews including the identification of training and development needs.
  • Monitor site performance of sub-contractors and make recommendations for sub-contractor nominations.
  • Ensure the Asset database is fully updated and items are correctly managed
  • Provide technical and professional support to the Maintenance team and to the Client in order to develop a "team" approach.
