Job summary

A leading Engineering Services Provider in the UK is seeking a Building Fabric Engineer to work on a mobile basis in the Exeter area. You will carry out reactive maintenance and carpentry repairs within a range of commercial buildings. Ideal candidates will have experience in general carpentry and possess a building trade qualification. Competitive salary range of £32K–£34K, plus company vehicle and benefits.

Job Details

Building Fabric Engineer required to work on a mobile basis on a commercial health contract in and around Devon and the surrounding area. Carrying out reactive building fabric and carpentry repairs within a range of commercial buildings in accordance with Health & Safety requirements. A background in general carpentry and / or general building repair is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance tasks
• Building fabric maintenance including general carpentry and repairs
• Basic repair within tiling, painting and decorating
• Plaster patching
• Water temperature checks and filter changes
• Correct and timely completion of paperwork according to company policy and procedure
• Adhere to the out-of-hours call‑out rota (as required)

Skills / Training

• Minimum trade qualification: Ideally qualified in a building and/or carpentry trade (NVQ / C&G)
• Desirable: Additional mechanical experience (e.g., changing filters)
