Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a Building Control Officer to join our Building Control team in Towcester. You will inspect sites, assess plans, and supervise works to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and related legislation, working with customers, developers, architects and contractors to deliver safe, compliant projects.

You must be a registered Building Inspector (Minimum Class 2A) with knowledge of the internal DEF system.

Qualifications

• Registered Building Inspector with Building Safety Regulator – Class 2A minimum.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Attention to detail and methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of building regulation applications.
• Inspect sites and assess plans for compliance with Building Regulations.
• Provide professional guidance to developers, architects and contractors.
• Investigate breaches and support enforcement actions as needed.
